Have you ever felt the undeniable presence of God in your life? Maybe it was during a season of triumph or a moment of quiet surrender when you first accepted Jesus as your Savior. In those moments, faith feels like an unshakable force—a source of peace, joy, and strength.
But life, with its constant demands and distractions, has a way of pulling our focus. We might find our faith shifting like the tides, its presence sometimes distant, sometimes near. And yet, deep in our hearts, we long for faith to be our steady anchor—a quiet, unwavering strength in every moment of life.
This longing for consistency in our faith is not just for ourselves. It’s for the sake of the families we nurture, the marriages we build, and the connections we cherish. Faith is not just an inward gift; it’s the foundation from which we pour out love and grace to those around us. That’s why it’s so important to intentionally embrace God’s presence in our everyday lives.
But how? How can we remain grounded in faith when the world is constantly calling us in a thousand different directions? Here are a few practices that have helped me, and I pray they’ll bless your heart as well.
Start Each Day with Prayer and Gratitude
Mornings are sacred. They set the tone for everything that follows. In my home, my husband and I begin each day by reading aloud to each other—he reads from a devotional book, and I read scripture from the Bible. For you, it might look different. Perhaps it’s listening to a faith-filled podcast, whispering a morning prayer, or jotting down a few blessings in a gratitude journal.
Whatever form it takes, starting your day with an intentional focus on God aligns your heart and mind with His presence. It reminds you that no matter what challenges or joys lie ahead, He goes before you, walks with you, and holds you close.
Find God in the Little Things
God’s love is woven into the fabric of our lives, often in the simplest of moments. It might be the laughter of your children, the stillness of a sunrise, or even the satisfaction of completing a mundane task.
The world moves so quickly, but when we slow down and open our hearts, we begin to see His hand everywhere. Keeping a blessings journal has been a transformative practice for me. Writing down those small, beautiful moments—no matter how ordinary they seem—grounds me in gratitude and reaffirms God’s presence in my daily life.
Invite God into Every Decision
As women of faith, we know the power of prayer in life’s big moments. But what about the small, seemingly insignificant ones? I’ll never forget my aunt pausing in the middle of a frantic search for her keys to say a quiet prayer. Within moments, she walked straight to them, sitting on a dresser in another room.
“God cares about even the little things,” she told me, her voice full of conviction. “Why shouldn’t I ask Him for help?”
That moment stayed with me. It reminded me that God’s love is intimate and personal. Whether it’s asking for wisdom in parenting, clarity in a conversation, or even guidance in finding lost keys, inviting Him into the small decisions of our day builds a deeper relationship with Him.
Anchor Your Relationships in Love
Our faith is most visible in how we treat others. As followers of Christ, we strive to extend grace, forgiveness, and compassion, but let’s be honest—stressful moments can test us.
When emotions run high, it’s easy to react in ways that don’t reflect our faith. For me, those moments are a cue to pause. Whether it’s counting to ten, breathing deeply, or stepping away to pray, taking a moment to regain perspective allows me to respond with love instead of reacting in frustration.
God doesn’t ask us to have all the answers. He simply invites us to lean on Him. In those moments of surrender, we find the strength to extend kindness and grace, even when it’s hard.
End the Day with Reflection
At the end of each day, carve out time to sit with God. Reflect on where you felt His presence, thank Him for the blessings you’ve received, and bring your worries and hopes to Him in prayer.
If you have little ones, bedtime can be a beautiful opportunity to share faith. Reading a Bible story, saying prayers, or simply cuddling and talking about the day plants seeds of faith in their hearts—and renews yours. These small, sacred moments become cherished memories and a foundation for their own walk with God.
Progress, Not Perfection
Remember, faith isn’t about getting it right all the time. It’s about progress, not perfection. It’s about leaning into God’s grace, trusting Him in the big and small moments, and letting Him guide your steps.
Every day is an opportunity to embrace God’s presence, to deepen your faith, and to live fully in the purpose He has for you. Let Him be your constant companion, your source of strength, and your ever-present help.
You are so loved. You are cherished by the One who created you, and you have everything you need in Him. So today, and every day, let’s walk in faith together. Let’s embrace His presence and live with intentional gratitude, knowing that He is with us in every moment.
Love and best wishes,
Janet
